These trucks are full competition trucks that can vary in size but must meet strict rules and standards as established by a certain promoter. They typically have modified engines that can develop up to 600 horsepower and go up to 60 MPH in a short distance. Suspension Modifications are permitted up to specified limits but trucks must maintain thier stock appearence.
Depending on the specific event each truck will race up to four times. All trucks must qualify for one of the 16 positions. Qualifying usually takes place while the fans are entering the facility. Track configurations vary widely from event to event and can be single lane, racing against the clock, or side by side, trying to beat the other racer. Each driver must be on his or her toes every weekend as the competition is always intense. Points are earned in almost every event (depending on the promotion), Awards are also presented at the end of the event or season.
